Communications professional Savanna Howie has joined Moxley Carmichael as an account executive.

Howie previously served as an account executive with The Andrews Agency in Nashville where she represented clients in restaurant, economic development, building construction, nonprofit and other industries.

A 2015 graduate of the University of Tennessee, Howie interned with Moxley Carmichael for a year and a half while completing her college coursework.

“Savanna is a tireless advocate for her clients, and she knows how to get results,” Moxley Carmichael CEO Cynthia Moxley said. “In addition, she is very familiar with our clients and our community from her extended internship with our firm, making her ready to jump in and get to work.”

Howie is the fifth former intern whom Moxley Carmichael has hired as a full-time employee. Other current team members who completed internships with the firm include Lauren Miller, director of client services; Amanda Shell Jennings, senior account executive; Katrina Roberts, graphic and digital media designer; and Amy Barger, manager of first impressions.

“We believe in providing interns with opportunities for hands-on experience that complements and benefits their education,” Moxley said. “Through this approach, we’ve been able to hire and retain great talent here in Knoxville.”

Howie earned a bachelor’s degree in communication studies and political science from UT, where she was a member of the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA); The Volunteer Channel, the student television station; and Kappa Kappa Gamma. She also interned with Nashville Lifestyles magazine.

A Nashville native, Howie is the daughter of Ron and Gail Howie. She now lives in the Sequoyah Hills neighborhood and is looking forward to getting involved in the community since moving back to Knoxville.

When she’s not working, Howie enjoys watching college football and playing with her dog, Roxy, a rescue from Young-Williams Animal Center.
