MARYVILLE, TN – SmartBank recently announced the promotion of David Conner, who has been named Senior Vice President, Blount County Market Executive. Conner will oversee and lead the bank’s effort in Blount County.

Conner most recently served as the Senior Vice President for Foothills Bank & Trust. In November 2018, SmartFinancial, Inc., parent company of SmartBank, completed the acquisition of Foothills Bancorp’s wholly owned bank subsidiary, Foothills Bank & Trust where Conner had been since 2007.

“David has been a great asset to our team in Blount County as well as the Maryville community for a number of years,” said Mike Honeycutt, SmartBank’s Northeast Tennessee Regional President. “Under his leadership, our team in Blount County continues to grow and demonstrate a strong commitment to our clients and the community. Conner has 19 years of banking experience which began in 2000 with The Home Bank of Tennessee. Most recently he spent 11 years with Foothills Bank &Trust which was started by his lifelong mentor, Nick McGuire.

Conner is a Maryville College graduate and an active member of the Blount County community where he currently serves as board chair for the Foothills Community Development Corporation, past board chair for Habitat for Humanity, and a member of the Alcoa Kiwanis Club. He is also a graduate of Leadership Blount where he will soon serve as a board member of the organization.
