Dogwood Arts Festival Needs Top-Notch Local Performers

KNOXVILLE – The Dogwood Arts Festival needs really good local performing arts talent to be featured at its 2012 Festival events.

The Festival's entertainment coordinator Jayne Morgan says "We're looking for a wide variety of entertainment – from street performers, theatres, bands, and cultural groups. From the off-beat to the traditional. This area is so rich in all kinds of wonderful performing arts and we want to make sure the Festival reflects that."

Performers are needed for a number of events during the 2012 Dogwood Arts Festival, including the opening weekend, Chalk Walk, Rhythm N' Blooms, Market Square Art Fair, and the Dogwood Parade. Stages will be set up in venues around downtown Knoxville, in addition to street performances.

Interested solo performers and groups can find the Performers application online for upload at www.dogwoodarts.com. The application deadline is November 4, 2011.
