Wild Thyme Players Holding Open Auditions

KNOXVILLE -- Open auditions will be held by the Wild Thyme Players on Saturday, September 3 from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. and on Sunday, September 4 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. The theatre group is looking for people to perform in its production of "The Ghastly Gala of the Grand Guignol," a series of short plays from the classic French theatre of horror.

Auditions will be held at Trinity United Methodist Church on Western Ave. in North Knoxville.

The Theâtre du Grand Guignol, located in the bohemian Montmartre district of Paris in the late 19th century, was famous for its mystery and horror plays, which later became the inspirations for Alfred Hitchcock, Stephen King and Quentin Tarantino.

Auditions are open to all interested individuals aged 16 and over, and no prior stage experience is necessary. Headshots and resumes are helpful, but not required. The auditions will consist of cold readings from the script. They are seeking a number of men and women of various ages.

The performance will include members of The Silver Stage Players, so seniors are encouraged to audition. The performances will take place on Thursday and Friday, October 20 & 21 at Relix Variety Theatre in Old North. For information call 325-9877 or email director@wildthymeplayers.org.
