Founders: An Exhibition of art from the founding members of A1LabArts
A1LabArts is offering a last chance to view an exhibition celebrating those artists who established and sustained one of Knoxville’s prime community arts organizations. Formed in the early 1990s, A1LabArts has been a paradigm of experimental and interactive arts.
A closing reception will be held on Thursday, March 15, 5:00 to 8:00 pm at the Center for Creative Minds, 23 Emory Place, Knoxville. Artists include: Susan Becker, Shirley Brown, Preston Farabow, Dario Gildrie, Cathy Freeman, Birney Hand, Cherry Hand Lemonds, Norman Magden, Susy Moesch, Mignon Naegeli, Dick Penner and Rip Lydick.
Through exhibitions, performances, and educational activities, it is A1LabArts’ intention to develop the creative artists’ and the community’s appreciation for interdisciplinary and new art forms.
Based in Knoxville, Tennessee, A1LabArts is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization founded in 1995 by a group of local artists. It is dedicated to the multi-disciplinary and experimental exploration of contemporary art issues in all media. For more information, you may visit www.A1LabArts.org.
