Sevierville’s Bloomin’ BBQ & Bluegrass announces 2018 entertainment lineup

SEVIERVILLE, TN – Sevierville’s Bloomin’ BBQ & Bluegrass Festival unveiled its music lineup, billing up-and-coming country artist Mo Pitney performing a one-time-only bluegrass set alongside well-known bluegrass pickers as its headline act for the free event set to take place in downtown Sevierville this May.

The event begins Friday, May 18 with a live performance by the all-sibling bluegrass group Salt and Light at 5 p.m., followed by performances from Brad Hudson at 6 p.m., Jimbo Whaley & Greenbrier at 7 p.m., and Russell Moore & IIIrd Tyme Out at 8 p.m.

Saturday’s lineup kicks off at noon with Jonah Riddle & Carolina Express. Dolly Parton’s Stampede’s house band, Mountain Ruckus, featuring four-time National Banjo Champion, Gary “Biscuit” Davis, plays at 1 p.m. Rob Ickes & Trey Hensley take the stage at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. Newly formed group, The Highland Travelers, featuring Adam Steffey, Keith Garrett, Jason Davis, Kameron Keller and Gary Hultman, perform at 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. Internet sensation and hilarious “GrassHipPop Fusion” artists The Cleverlys perform at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m.

Current rising country star and Curb Recording artist Mo Pitney will headline Saturday night beginning at 8 p.m. He will be featured in a very unique set showcasing his bluegrass roots combined with his current mainstream country sound. Pitney has made a tremendous impact on current country radio while still embracing and remaining influenced by his bluegrass musical roots. His show will feature some of his favorite bluegrass players and he is currently in the process of selecting special guests to join him for the 2018 Bloomin’ BBQ & Bluegrass Festival. Stay tuned as we make special announcements leading up to this historic evening.

“Our goal this year was to offer a variety of artists to appeal to all types of bluegrass fans,” said Amanda Marr, Sevierville Chamber of Commerce Director of Marketing and Communications. “We are very excited about the opportunity to bring a country artist like Mo Pitney to the stage for a one-time-only bluegrass show. It’s going to be a tremendous weekend of entertainment in Sevierville.”

Bloomin’ Barbeque & Bluegrass takes place in historic downtown Sevierville, Tennessee.
