KNOXVILLE -- Broadway Studios and Gallery are calling all artists to submit to the POP ART show. Pop Art was an art movement in the 60’s. A lot of its art was large, graphic, and brightly colored images of popular cultural themes. Andy Worhol was the most famous of the Pop Artists, with his large repetitive prints of Campbell Soup Cans and of neon colored pictures of Marilyn Monroe.

Painting, printing, collage, computer graphics, 3D work, fashion, and related works are all accepted. This is a fun show. Artists should make their art “POP” with bright colors and something light-hearted or a graphic commentary about our culture of today.

If you submit clothing, you must provide a way for the garment to be displayed. If you don’t, you will not be eligible for prizes; participants are encouraged to wear their work during the First Friday event. Entry fee is $5 each piece. Maximum 3 entry per person. All work must be submitted on February 22-24, Thursday-Saturday, from 10 p.m.- 6 p.m.

Opening Night for the show is “First” Friday, March 2nd, from 5-9 p.m. Prizes will be awarded at 6:30 p.m.

The show runs through 6 p.m. Saturday March 31. Work must be picked up between March 29-31th, Thursday-Saturday from 10 p.m.- 6 p.m.

This is a last minute show so work accordingly....entry dates are arriving fast.
