Experience Gatlinburg Winter Magic with 100 life-size Snowpeople

GATLINBURG, TN - Wintertime visitors of Gatlinburg are in for a flurry of action-packed activities this holiday season, highlighted by enhanced seasonal décor featuring over 100 four-foot tall, three-dimensional Snowpeople placed throughout the city.

Gatlinburg Winter Magic runs from November through January, and includes activities for the whole family. Visitors can find a complete list of holiday happenings by downloading the Gatlinburg App. The App also includes a map of all the Snowpeople locations throughout town. Visitors are encouraged to share their photos with the Snowpeople using the official Gatlinburg Winter hashtag: #GatlinburgWinter.

“Gatlinburg is magical in the wintertime, and the perfect destination for a family holiday in the Smokies or a cozy cabin weekend retreat,” said Marci Claude, Public Relations Manager for the Gatlinburg Convention and Visitors Bureau. “We’re excited to host a number of events for this year’s Gatlinburg Winter Magic celebration, which is sure to show the entire family a great time. This season also marks the launch of our new Snowpeople installation, providing new whimsical personalities to our wintertime décor to help us celebrate all season long.”

The Gatlinburg Winter Magic calendar of events is packed with fun seasonal activities such as:
• Gatlinburg Trolley of Lights: Now – January 26, 2018
• Specially designated trolleys carry guests on a memorable journey through town, featuring one-of-a-kind LED lighting displays including winter scenes and Winter Magic snowmen.
• Bringing the joys of the season to visitors of all ages through activities such as a children’s craft and play area, entertainment throughout the week, photos with Santa Claus. Exquisitely decorated Christmas trees and wreaths are available for purchase.
• Winter Magic Tunes and Tales: Now - December 22, 2018

Holiday music will fill the air with a mixture of Appalachia, Bluegrass, and Country! Visitors are invited to meet characters and storytellers, visit with Santa’s elves and enjoy caroling along the Parkway Friday and Saturday evenings of the holiday season.

Presented by Ole Red Gatlinburg, the 43rd Annual Fantasy of Lights Christmas Parade promises to be a spectacular celebration filled with marching bands, large balloons, dancers, and of course, Santa Claus. New Year’s Eve Ball Drop and Fireworks Show: December 31, 2018 Gatlinburg will welcome the arrival of 2019 in unique style with its Annual New Year’s Eve Ball Drop and Fireworks Show around the intersection of Parkway and Historic Nature Trail at the base of the Space Needle late Monday night, December 31.
