Knoxville Theatre Club creates Holler! Performing Arts Center
KNOXVILLE – Knoxville Theatre Club has joined forces with Modern Studio to create the Holler! Performing Arts Center. Partners Carolyn Corley, Sara Gaddis, and JP Schuffman plan a multi-phase renovation beginning this summer.
HPAC’s grand opening and launch party is Saturday, June 9 at 7:00 pm (doors at 6:00 pm) and features local actors, dancers, and visual artists, as well as Happy Holler breweries and food trucks. Entry to the event is Pay-What-You-Want, with a suggested donation of $5. The venue is located 109 West Anderson Ave. Knoxville, 37917.
The new proposed renovations include elevated seating for 80+, a large permanent stage, and curated gallery. The revamped venue will serve as Knoxville's premiere incubator for local performing arts and an entertainment hub for the thriving community along Central Street.
Knoxville Theatre Club supports local playwrights and performing artists with events like the Crow Flies Scriptworks and Knoxville Theatre Slam, while Modern Studio hosts Knoxtravanganza variety shows and provides a low-cost space to produce fully staged productions and host classes. Their expanded partnership is a natural evolution of their missions and a win for the local arts community.
Knoxville Theatre Club is a 501(c)3 non-profit whose mission includes, "the development of resources focused on improving accessibility to the dramatic arts in the Knoxville community."
