BrickUniverse LEGO Convention comes to Knoxville August 25-26

The BrickUniverse LEGO Fan Convention will be hosting a massive LEGO convention in Knoxville. The LEGO event will run on Saturday, August 25 through Sunday, August 26, 2018 at the Knoxville Convention Center.

Attendees can expect hands-on building, mind-boggling models, creative experiences, a challenge zone, and one-of-a-kind LEGO displays. Children of all ages and builders of all skills and levels are welcome, but purchasing in advance is highly recommended as previous shows have sold out and no tickets will be available at the door for sold-out days.

After getting inspired by the featured artists and their amazing LEGO creations, attendees can then build their own masterpieces
at the building zones at BrickUniverse.

BrickUniverse brings renown professional LEGO artists from around the world. Professional LEGO artist Jonathan Lopes of San Diego, California will showcase over 30 of his select LEGO displays and will be at the convention all weekend. He will also talk to attendees about his life as a professional LEGO artist and how they can become LEGO master builders. Additionally, Chicago-based LEGO artist Rocco Buttliere will bring over 50 LEGO models of world famous landmarks. Attendees can see the largest skyscraper in the world, Burj Khalifa, the full Westminster Palace in London, and other famous landmarks built from LEGO bricks.

“The LEGO artists are like rock stars,” Greyson Beights, who started BrickUniverse when he was 14 years old, says. “When you walk into the event, one of the first things you see are the artist galleries filled massive LEGO displays; the LEGO artists built everything with thousands of LEGO bricks. They are at BrickUniverse all weekend to answer questions about their work and talk to and teach attendees how they, too, can become master builders. The kids love it.”

After getting inspired by the featured artists and their amazing LEGO creations, attendees can then build their own masterpieces at the building zones at BrickUniverse. The event will feature an Architecture Building Zone, a Duplo building for younger kids, and Blue Brick Building Zone.

There will also be multiple LEGO merchants at BrickUniverse selling anything and everything LEGO. There will be new LEGO sets, retired LEGO sets, LEGO minifigures, custom minifigures, accessories, and more sold by eight different LEGO merchants.

Other attractions include:
• The Building Zone: millions of LEGO bricks set out where attendees can build to their heart's content
• The Challenge Zone: attendees can test their own building skills against fellow attendees and have a chance to win an exclusive prize
• Minifigure Art: get yourself "legoized" in a caricature of minifigure version of yourself

It is hard to argue against the timelessness of the LEGO toy. With countless building possibilities and playset themes ranging from STAR WARS to MINECRAFT, the colorful plastic blocks have been a beloved source of imaginative construction for generations. And now, with the recent success of LEGO movies and a variety of LEGO-inspired video games, the toys appear to be more popular than ever. This enduring popularity will be celebrated at the BrickUniverse LEGO Fan Convention in Knoxville.

Tickets are available for either Saturday, August 25 or Sunday, August 26. Tickets do sell out, so early booking is advised at www.brickuniverse.com/knoxville.
