KNOXVILLE – Now is the time to pick up your phone and call your mom, dad, cousins, nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, and especially your grandma to let them know they need to enter The Tennessee Valley Fair competitions or contests. The Fair is now accepting entries for all categories. With over 3,200 contests and competitions, there truly is a competition for everyone! Apply to any competition to show off your unique skill to our East Tennessee community. Competitions being offered include horticulture, livestock, arts, photography, and so much more. Top winners will receive awards and cash prizes.

There are several new competitions being offered for 2018:

Barn Quilts - A barn quilt is a basic quilt pattern painted on a piece of wood, large and bright enough to be seen from a distance. They are often inspired by fabric quilt patterns and are generally one block of the pattern.

Graphic Design - The Tennessee Valley Fair will be celebrating our 100th anniversary in 2019! Help us celebrate by creating a poster that captures the fun, excitement, and traditions of our Fair! Winning designs have the chance to be used for future promotions for the Tennessee Valley Fair.

Miss Senior - A pageant for the age of elegance, the Tennessee Valley Fair Miss Senior winner will advance to the Tennessee Senior America Pageant.

Plein Air - From the French phrase meaning "painting in the open air," En Plein Aire at the Tennessee Valley Fair welcomes novice and expert painters. Join us with your paints and easels to start a new tradition.
