A1LabArts celebrates the opening of its first annual juried show, “Connections”. The show will be in the lower gallery of the Emporium Center from March 1-31, 2019. Juror’s Awards will be presented at 6 pm. This competition is made possible by a generous donation honoring two founding members and will be a yearly event.

A1LabArts, a Knoxville-based 501(c)(3) organization founded in 1995 by local artists, is dedicated to multi-disciplinary and experimental exploration of contemporary art issues in all media.

About the Juror
Katie Hargrave (b. 1985 Chicago, resides Chattanooga, TN) is a professor at the University of Tennessee, Chattanooga. She received her MFA in Intermedia from the University of Iowa, MA from Brandeis University, and BFA from the University of Illinois. Her work has been shown at DIY spaces, university galleries, non-profits, and festivals. She is a member of the collaborative groups “The Think Tank that has yet to be named” and “Like Riding a Bicycle.”
