Call for Entries: Knoxville Photo 2019 Exhibition

Entry deadline is May 5, 2019

The Arts & Culture Alliance of Greater Knoxville announces a call for photographic works for its seventh annual Knoxville Photo 2019. The national call for entries is open to all artists. This juried exhibition was developed to provide a forum for artists to compete on a national scale and display their work. Approximately 40 photographic works from both emerging and established artists will be selected by the juror, Lynette Miller, for exhibition in the main gallery of the Emporium Center at 100 S. Gay Street, Knoxville’s downtown arts anchor location, from July 5-26, 2019. The Emporium is free and open to the public Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (and additional hours for special events).

The deadline for entries to be received is Sunday, May 5, 2019.

Prizes include over $1,000 in cash awards, and exhibiting artists will receive a catalog of the exhibition.

Artists may view detailed information and complete an entry form at knoxalliance.com/photo-entry.

The call for entries is open to all artists. Entries must be original works taken within the last two years in the following categories: The Human Experience, Our Earth, Still Life, Travel, and Digital Imagination. The nonrefundable entry fee is $30 for up to three images ($20 for Arts & Culture Alliance members and students). Up to seven additional images may be submitted for $5/each ($4 for members/students).

About the juror: Lynette Miller received her MFA in Photography from SUNY Buffalo and has taught college-level darkroom and digital photography. Her work explores alternative, innovative ways of creating and conceptualizing photography, and she has numerous one woman, group, museum and gallery exhibitions to her credit throughout the U.S. Lynette Miller maintains her studio in Black Mountain, NC.

More information about the program, as well as images from previous exhibitions, can be found at knoxalliance.com/knoxville-photo. Knoxville Photo 2018 featured the work of 34 artists as selected by juror Leigh Mitchell.
