The Knoxville Symphony Orchestra and Music Director Lucas Richman continue an age-old holiday tradition in East Tennessee with the 24th Annual Clayton Holiday concerts. The theme of this year's show is "Holiday Characters," saluting the beloved characters of the season including Charlie Brown, Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, Frosty the Snowman, and more. Performances will take place on Friday and Saturday, December 17 and 18, at 7:30 PM and Saturday and Sunday, December 18 and 19, at 3:00 PM at the Civic Auditorium. The shows, sponsored by Clayton Homes, Clayton Bank and Trust and Clayton Volvo, are a perfect way to celebrate the season with the entire family.

"I always look forward to our Clayton Holiday Concerts because, as an East Tennessee tradition, they provide an opportunity for the whole community to come together and celebrate family, love and wonderful music," says KSO Music Director Lucas Richman.

This year's concerts will feature classical and traditional holiday favorites such as Anderson's Sleigh Ride and Christmas Festival Overture, Handel's Hallelujah Chorus with the Knoxville Choral Society, performances from Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker by Go! Contemporary Dance Works, music by the Sound Company Children's Choir, the traditional Christmas sing-along with the KSO audience and everyone's favorite elf: Santa Claus!

Tickets begin at just $14 and children's tickets are half price before fees. To purchase tickets call (865) 291-3310 or (865) 656-4444 or log onto www.knoxvillesymphony.com.

This year the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra is partnering with the Young-Williams Animal Center to make this holiday season extra special for the animals in need in our community. Patrons are asked to help our furry friends by bringing to the Clayton Holiday Concert items from the center's Wish List. Designated bins will be available for these donations. Wish List items include: 3-quart stainless steel dog bowls, pet toys for dogs and cats, Science Diet dry dog and cat food, Pop-top canned kitten, cat, puppy and dog food and KONG pet toys. For more Wish List items visit www.knoxpets.org.

Formally established in 1935, the KSO consists of 84 virtuoso musicians under the leadership of Maestro Lucas Richman. The symphony performs more than 200 times each year throughout the region to a total audience of more than 200,000.
