Chef Don's Table, A Personal Chef at Your Service is now available for busy executives and families in the Knoxville and surrounding counties.

Chef Don's Table is owned and operated by Chef Donald Grannis and offers "palate-specific" personal meals cooked from fresh ingredients in private homes. "With so many households where people are working, meal planning and preparation becomes an extra burden. Frozen entrees and take-out food, while convenient, is loaded with salt and preservatives," says Grannis. " You may save preparation time, but your family's health and well-being suffers in the long run."

Chef Don meets with each client to determine their specific dietary needs. Then menus are agreed upon and a cooking date is selected. "I shop for all the food, come into the client's home weekly or bi-weekly and cook about 10 meals. Then I fresh freeze them and clean everything up. "I leave nothing behind but delicious smells and great food," says Grannis. Chef Don is also available for dinner parties and special occasions.

"My passion for food began in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania at the age of six by watching and later cooking with my grandmother," said Grannis. "Her passion for cooking inspired me to learn as much as I could about becoming a chef."

As a teenager Grannis began working in bakeries and later moved into full service casual dining then to fine dining. I received most of my knowledge and experience by working in restaurants. At the age of 23 he relocated to Knoxville and worked for corporate as well as private restaurants. Don said, "I enjoyed working for private restaurants most because I had more control over the creative aspects of my job without the restrictions that a corporate setting puts on a chef. I waited a few years before attending culinary school and graduated with honors."

Grannis now holds two degrees, one in Culinary Arts and the other in Food Service Management. While working as a manager/chef in a small bistro in Sevierville he decided to bring my culinary talents and expertise to the city of Knoxville and surrounding counties.

Chef Don is a member of the American Personal & Private Chef Association and the Knoxville Chamber of Commerce. He is ServSafe certified, licensed, and insured in the state of Tennessee. He can be contacted at 865-356-3225 or email at chefdonstable@gmail.com. You may also visit his website at www.chefdonstable.com.
