New Exhibit at Emporium Center Opens October 7

KNOXVILLE – A new group exhibition presented by the Arts & Culture Alliance will open Friday, October 7, at 5:00 PM in the Balcony of the Emporium Center. The exhibition will feature seven regional artists:
• Lisa W. Ellis (Morristown) – Silver gelatin photography prints of man-altered landscapes of East Tennessee (the lime hills of an ASARCO Mine and the dry lake bed of Douglas Lake) and industrial landscapes in Hamblen County.
• Betsy Hobkirk (Knoxville) – Oil and mixed media paintings inspired by organic imagery found in nature.
• Gloria Nelson (Maryville) – Oil paintings of subjects that evoke memories from the past with intentions of taking the viewer away from the robotic technological society of today. www.glorianelsonart.com
• Olga Noes (Knoxville) - Acrylic works on canvas and wood board. www.olganoes.com
• Dennis Sabo (Loudon) – Photography of natural history and marine sciences, including underwater images from the South Pacific and the Caribbean and wildlife from Botswana, Africa; www.dsabophoto.com .
• Jesse Sisken (Lexington, KY) – Photographs of landscapes, seascapes, and architectural images of the physical and cultural features of the Greek Cycladic islands. www.jessesisken.com
• Regina Turner (Knoxville) – Acrylic paintings that colorfully express and portray the passion of God's word and His truth of love through the eyes of the artist's inner child. www.reginaturner.com
The group exhibition will be displayed in the Balcony at the Emporium Center, 100 S. Gay Street, from October 7-28, 2011.
An opening reception will take place as part of First Friday activities on October 7 from 5:00-9:00 PM with complimentary hors d'oeuvres.
Gallery hours are Monday-Friday 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM with additional hours on Saturday, October 8, from 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM.
