The Fleet Feet Knoxville Running Club will be holding its annual Thanksgiving Day race in Turkey Creek: the Hot to Trot 5k/10k & Fun Run.

The race is held on Thanksgiving morning and draws approximately 3,000 local and visiting runners annually to the Turkey Creek area in Farragut. Hot to Trot is a family friendly event, with families of up to four generations racing together. Registration is $30 for the 5k or 10k, and $20 for the Fun Run.

In the spirit of Thanksgiving, a portion of the proceeds from the race will be donated to the local charity A Hand Up for Women. The Fleet Feet Knoxville Running Club charity provides a life-management and job-readiness program that brings dignity, self-confidence, and hope to women who might otherwise remain trapped in abuse, addiction, poverty, and despair. Over the past several years, Fleet Feet Knoxville has raised over $37,000 for the program through the Hot to Trot races. In addition, the race is also hosting a food drive for Shepherd’s Hope Food Pantry in Farragut for the second year. In 2016, race participants and volunteers donated several boxes of canned goods and other non-perishables, and Hot to Trot donated $1,000 to the pantry from race profits.

The Hot to Trot 5k/10k & Fun Run will take place on Thanksgiving Day, Thurs. Nov 23rd at 7:30 a.m.
