Women’s leadership boot camp taking applications

Even though women have the perfect skills to rise to the top, too often they lack the self-confidence or self-awareness to achieve their potential. The Rising Stars Women’s Leadership Boot Camp is a program for women leaders, managers, and high-performing women. It addresses these challenges and more.

Applications are being accepted through September 30, 2017 for the 32-hour interactive program that begins October 20, 2017. Boot camp alumni cross all levels of management, including vice presidents, supervisors, non-profit leaders, and entrepreneurs and they range in age from their early 20s to their late 50s. The experience and age diversity results in highly valuable peer to peer coaching during the sessions.

Boot camp participants earn continuing education units through Roane State Community College for classroom training. The four days of training include:

Day 1, Effective Communication: Learning to use your personal communication style to build a more effective team and to motivate employees by recognizing the driving forces that motivate them.

Day 2, Emotional Intelligence: Learn to build self-awareness, self-control, and empathy and to understand how to manage workplace conflicts.

Day 3, Personal Power: Explore key traits and styles of effective leadership and work through the critical characteristics and hidden mistakes that impact critical thinking.

Day 4, Employee Management: Learn to build an effective team that is committed and accountable and to enhance delegation and priority setting skills.

The full program fee is $2,497, which includes extensive assessment, training materials, breakfast and lunch. Applicants who register by September 15 pay only $1,997 if accepted into the program. Classes are from 8:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. on Friday beginning October 20 through November 10. Susanne Dalton Dupes and Deb Schmitz are the boot camp instructors.
