Originally from Chattanooga, Rev. Martha Scott has lived in West Knoxville for more than 20 years. After completing her Bachelor’s in Business Administration, Finance, from the University of Tennessee, Chattanooga, Martha lived briefly in New Jersey and then settled in Knoxville where she worked in the business world, primarily in healthcare marketing while completing an M.B.A through the University of Tennessee, Martin. She experienced a call to vocational ministry in her 30s and pursued a Master of Divinity from Asbury Theological Seminary. After a nearly 20-year career in the business world, Martha was ordained as an Elder in the United Methodist Church in 2014 and is currently working on a Doctorate in Ministry. Martha has served as executive pastor for Powell United Methodist Church where she oversaw administrative functions and served as the primary preaching pastor for traditional worship.

Martha has a 12-year-old daughter, Jordan, who attends Hardin Valley Middle School and loves figure skating and Harry Potter. Martha is passionate about preaching and teaching biblical truths that are relevant to real-life situations. Some of the greatest moments in ministry for Martha are witnessing “ah-ha!” moments when people suddenly realize that God loves them just the way they are, and they become passionate about growing in loving and serving Jesus Christ.

Martha enjoys yoga, exercising, reading, cooking, and watching Jordan ice skate. Martha and Jordan are very excited about joining the First Farragut United Methodist Church family and are looking forward to being a part of the incredible ministries already taking place in the community in and through First Farragut.

First Farragut offers two Sunday services at 9 and 11, Sunday School, children and youth programming, and a multitude of service Opportunities. Visit ffumc.org for more information.
