All lanes open after rockslide on Alcoa Highway

Tennessee Department of Transportation crews are on the scene to clean up a rockslide that has fallen on the shoulder and a portion of the right hand lane on northbound on U.S. 129/State Route-115 near Woodson Road across from the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps Reserve Center.

The right hand northbound lane opened shortly before 6:45 a.m.. TDOT geotechnical engineer David Barker will continue to evaluate and monitor the mountainside.






Law enforcement officers notified dispatchers with the Traffic Management Center shortly before 4:00 a.m. Crews discovered a boulder in the right northbound lane and several rocks on the shoulder.
