WDVX auctions guitar autographed by legends

Bluegrass devotees, autograph collectors, and guitar lovers will place their bids and vie for the chance to own a one-of-a-kind instrument being auctioned off by not-for-profit radio station WDVX FM.

Beginning Monday, November 22, enthusiasts can start bidding on a Jean Larrivée acoustic guitar signed by some of the world's best musicians: Ricky Skaggs, Tommy Emmanuel, Tony Rice, Doyle Lawson, Tim O'Brien, Peter Rowan, Missy Raines, Jim Hurst, Frank Vignola, Claire Lynch and Brian Sutton.






"We've been fortunate to host many of these players on the Blue Plate Special," says general manager Linda Billman. "The guitar represents how integral WDVX is to the music community, and we're eager for bidders step up for the chance to make it their own."

"The artists who signed the guitar represent just a handful of the countless musicians who have graciously given their time and support to the station over the years," says program manager Tony Lawson. "Whoever makes the winning bid will have something very special."

Bidding on the autographed guitar will begin at $1,000. The auction ends Wednesday, December 22, and the highest bidder's name will be announced on the air.
