Hurricane Irene is now a category 3 storm and is expected to continue to intensify. Current winds are about 120mph. If Irene does make landfall, the predicted path has not changed since our last update. Meteorologists and weather officials are still saying, it will hit South Carolina and it could go as far north as Maine.

The concern level has grown with more people and officials making plans to evacuate. The eastern coastal states are making plans and preparing for an evacuation. This storm is gigantic with an 800 mile cloud mass. At this point, all likelihood is that it will continue to grow in size and strengthen to a category 4 by Thursday evening.
