KNOXVILLE – The Tennessee Valley Fair, Knoxville News Sentinel, WBIR-TV 10, Food City and Wade Shows, Inc. presented the Love Kitchen with a $3,500 donation on Thursday, December 15.

The funds were raised during Love Kitchen Day at the Fair held on Sunday, September 11 during the 92nd annual Tennessee Valley Fair, September 9-18, 2011. $1 from each unlimited ride wristband sold that day was set aside to benefit the Love Kitchen.

"Do you know how many meals we can serve with this? You've helped so many people!" said Helen Ashe, Love Kitchen founder.

The Love Kitchen provides meals, clothing and emergency services to homebound, homeless and unemployed individuals and families in the Knoxville area. Working together with other local agencies, the Love Kitchen provides these services in the hopes of promoting self-sufficiency in our community.

The 93rd annual Tennessee Valley Fair is scheduled for September 7-16, 2012.
