Help support Knoxville 'Extreme Makeover: Home Edition'
December 15, 2011
T-shirts supporting the Knoxville build of ABC'S Emmy-winning hit television series "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" are now available at three locations in Knoxville: Grace Construction, Johnson Architecture and the Knoxville Chamber.
For a suggested donation, anyone can become part of Knoxville's team, "Extreme Volunteers," and support a deserving Knoxville family. Short-sleeved T-shirts are available for a suggested $10 donation; long-sleeved T-shirts are available for a $20 donation.
"Raising support for this project is a community-wide effort," said Grace Construction's president and founder, Christi Branscom. "All donations from the T-shirts go to the Knoxville Family Build Fund, set up to assist the selected family during and after the build."
On Jan. 10, the show's host, Ty Pennington, will surprise the selected family at their home to give them the news they have been chosen. This will begin a massive construction project that will require hundreds of skilled and unskilled volunteers, as well as monetary and product donations. The program relies on community support to complete a total home re-do accomplished within a week.
Whether by donating time, money or product, an "Extreme Volunteer" T-shirt demonstrates support of the project and the Knoxville community.
In addition to the three physical locations, T-shirts can be found online at www.shgstores.com/grace and at the Tennessee Extreme Makeover: Home Edition site, www.joinextreme.com/tennessee. |
