EODT Supports TAPS Honor Guard Gala

LENOIR CITY -- EOD Technology, Inc. (EODT) is supporting military families by sponsoring the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS) 2011 Honor Guard Gala. This annual event raises funds for TAPS programs and services that provide help and comfort to families grieving the death of someone who served in the Armed Forces. The Gala is Tuesday April 5, 2011 at Andrew. W. Mellon Auditorium in Washington, D.C. The event honors families of fallen military heroes and pays tribute to the men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

This is the third year EODT has sponsored the TAPS Honor Gala and the two organizations have worked together for other special events in the past. In March 2009, EODT and TAPS co-sponsored a special screening of "The Hurt Locker" movie for military personnel in Washington, D.C. The star of the movie, Jeremy Renner, also attended and joined a panel on stage to discuss the physical and emotional impacts of combat.

"EODT is pleased to support TAPS—an organization that has helped so many families cope with the loss of a military loved one," said Matt Kaye, EODT President and CEO. "We owe a debt of gratitude to the families of our fallen service members and the honorable sacrifice they have made for our country and freedom."

In addition to sponsorship support, EODT's Michael Bouchard serves on the TAPS Leadership Committee. The committee is comprised of senior military officials and corporate executives who share a demonstrated commitment to the nation's military families and veterans.

Founded out of tragedy in 1994, TAPS is a non-profit organization that has established itself as the front line resource to the families and loved ones of our military men and women. TAPS provides comfort and care through comprehensive services and programs including peer based emotional support, case work assistance, crisis intervention, and grief and trauma resources.
