Henley Bridge Update

The Henley Bridge will continue to be closed for approxmately 22 to 28 months for an extensive bridge rehabilitation project.
Utility relocations and adjustments (gas and water) are now complete on the north end of the bridge in the Henley St./Hill St. intersection. Repaving the utility trenches is expected to be complete on Monday, March 7th. Pending good weather, the gas and water line modifications in the Chapman/Blount intersection are expected to be completed by the end of this weekend with repaving to follow sometime next week.
Crews will be working round the clock to complete these operations. Watch for traffic delays in this area. Traffic counts for the signals at the various intersections on the detour and alternate routes are complete. Final signal adjustments should be complete by the end of next week.
The bridge demolition continues with the overhang and railing removal half complete. Reconstruction of the south approach span (near Blount Ave.) continues, and the expected completion has been updated to March 11th. Then, construction crews will move to the north end (Hill St. side) to start similar operations around March 14th.
