KNOXVILLE -- Jonathan Underhill Hayward, suspected of robbing the Bank of America located at 9375 Kingston Pike in Knoxville, Tennessee earlier today was arrested less than an hour later. Hayward, age 56, is from Jonesborough, Tennessee.

At approximately 9:40 a.m., Hayward entered the Bank of America, threatened to have an explosive device, and verbally demanded money. At approximately 10:15 a.m., he was arrested subsequent to a vehicle stop eastbound on I-40 by officers with the Knox County Sheriff's Office and the Knoxville Police Department.

Hayward is facing a federal charge for bank robbery.
