KNOXVILLE – Greg Mackay, candidate for the Tennessee House of Representatives, District 18, received $25,425 in contributions since April, according to his first campaign financial disclosure statement. The report, filed with the State of Tennessee Registry of Election Finance on Monday, showed $8,878.89 in expenditures and cash on hand of $16,546.11.

“I am encouraged and humbled by the level of support this campaign has received. We had 125 contributors, with over 100 supporters donating $100 or less and a great deal of bi-partisan support. It’s clear that the voters of the 18th District are ready to elect someone who can work across the aisle to get things done.”

Mackay, a former Knox County Administrator of Elections, is running to represent district 18, which encompasses much of west and northwest Knoxville. He cites health care, job growth and improving public education as key priorities. For more information on Mackay’s campaign, visit votegregmackay.com.

Early voting for the State and Federal Primary Election runs July 13-28. Election Day is August 2.

Mackay served as a Knox County Election Commissioner from 1990 to 1998, and as Administrator of Elections from 2003-2011. He was instrumental in expanding and popularizing early voting and has been an advocate for reforming the voting process. Passionate about voter rights, he registered thousands of voters during his tenure. Presently, Mackay is a real estate broker with Coldwell Banker, Wallace and Wallace, Realtors. A graduate of the Webb School of Knoxville, he also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from The University of Tennessee. Mackay and his wife, Kate, live in Kingston Hills with their teenage daughter, Hannah.
