TDCI reports business violations for February 2018
KNOXVILLE -- During the month of February 2018, the Tennessee Department of Commerce & Insurance discovered violations by businesses. These violations resulted in suspensions, license revocations, and other penalties.
The following individuals and/or businesses included:
Accountancy:
• Dawn Dillman and Engstrom CPA, Inc., Seymour TN. Failure to enroll in peer review; $3,000 civil penalty
Burial Services:
• Fort Hill Cemetery, Cleveland TN. Cemetery buried a deceased in plot owned by Complainant's family, failure to timely file annual reports, failure to maintain cemetery grounds, sign not posted at cemetery as required by law, failure to make the master map available for public inspection to verify a location of burial ground; $1,369 civil penalty
• Oak Ridge Memorial Park, Oak Ridge, TN. Failure to deposit trust funds, failure to timely order the merchandise on one contract, failed to timely deposit trust funds, failure to timely file annual reports; $500 civil penalty
Collections:
• Healthcare Receivables Group, Inc., Knoxville, TN. Failure to respond to a complaint; $250 civil penalty
Contractors & Home Improvement:
• A Rising Son, Inc., Chattanooga, TN. Unlicensed activity; $250 civil penalty
• Greg Holder, Fayetteville, TN. Unlicensed activity; $5,000 civil penalty
• Ryan Lorance, McMinnville, TN. Gross negligence; $500 civil penalty
Cosmetology & Barber:
• Legends Custom Cuts, Maryville, TN. Operating on an expired shop license; $100 civil penalty
Motor Vehicle:
• Grindstaff Kia, Johnson City, TN. Engaging in false, fraudulent, or deceptive practice(s); $500 civil penalty
• MC Auto Sales, Sevierville, TN; Unlicensed activity; $5,000 civil penalty
Private Protective Services:
• Dorothy Bryant, Columbia, TN. Criminal impersonation of an officer; $250 civil penalty
