PIGEON FORGE, TN — Phil Waldrep Ministries of North Alabama will be hosting 43rd president George W. Bush at their annual Celebrators Conference next week in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.

The senior adult gathering begins on Monday, October 22 at the LeConte Center and ends on Thursday morning, October 25. The former president is set to speak at Wednesday night’s session dedicated to celebrating veterans.

“Wednesday night will be a time to celebrate what is good and right about our country and honor those who have served our nation,” said conference founder, Phil Waldrep.

Bush previously spoke at Celebrators in 2009 where he gave a non-political, patriotic address with over 10,000 people in attendance. He returned in 2011 and again in 2013.

The relationship between Bush and Waldrep first began in 2006 when the then-president reached out to Waldrep about giving a policy speech at Celebrators. Another site was chosen for the address, but in October 2009, Bush headlined the conference in Sevierville, TN. In 2013, Waldrep attended the dedication of the George W. Bush Presidential Center.

“It’s always an honor to share our stage with one of our nation’s leaders,” said Waldrep.

Celebrators Conference is specially planned for active, mature adults to experience spiritual fulfillment, Bible teaching, fellowship and fun.

This year’s four day and three night event will include teaching from Dr. David Jeremiah and conference founder Phil Waldrep, a night of laughs with Christian comedian Chonda Pierce and times of worship with musical guests Selah, Veritas, Charles Billingsley and the Gaither Vocal Band.

“It’s become like a family for me,” said long-time conference attendee Clate Ralston. “I love the music, the programs and all the people we get to meet.”

Since its beginning in 1994, Celebrators has hosted prominent guests Laura Bush, Mike Huckabee, Tim Tebow, Max Lucado and Mark Lowry.

Waldrep’s ministry has a worldwide reach and over 40,000 people attended his events this year.

Phil Waldrep Ministries, based in Decatur, Alabama, seeks to make a difference in the lives of people. This is accomplished through conferences such as Women of Joy, Gridiron, and Celebrators, as well as speaking engagements, online devotionals, and Pastor’s Encouragement Retreats.
