New walk-in urgent care opens in Maryville

MARYVILLE, TN – Urgent Team, one of the largest independent operators of urgent and family care centers in the Southeast, is now open in Maryville.

Urgent Team - Maryville is open seven days a week and offers urgent and family care, as well as wellness and occupational health services on a walk-in basis. With no appointment needed and X-ray onsite, Urgent Team treats patients with emergent but non-life threatening medical needs, such as:

• Asthma and allergies
• Immunizations and vaccinations
• Flu, colds and viral illnesses
• School, sports, wellness and DOT physicals
• Bites, stings, allergic reactions
• Skin conditions, including burns
• Sprains, strains, broken bones
• Occupational Health Services
• Diarrhea, nausea and vomiting
• Urinary tract infections
• Ear and eye injuries

Leading the healthcare team are Physician Assistant Deserie Cook and Nurse Practitioner Denise Berry. Cook has worked in Knoxville-area clinics for the past five years, and currently serves as an adjunct instructor at South College. She earned a Master of Health Science Physician Studies from South College, and a Bachelor of Science degree from Centre College in Danville, Kentucky. Berry has also worked at clinics and hospitals in the area for the last 15 years. She also served in the U.S. Army National Guard. She received a Master of Science in Nursing and Bachelor of Science in Nursing degrees from East Tennessee State University.

“Maryville is a fast-growing, tight-knit community and providing convenient and affordable care for urgent, but non-emergency needs, is a primary focus we are intent on providing,” said Ellis Harris, Urgent Team Division Vice President.

Hours for the new center are: Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.; and Saturday and Sunday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The center accepts most insurance, including Medicare, Medicaid, and TRICARE and new patients can pre-register online.

The center is located at 525 W. Broadway Ave., next to New Providence Presbyterian.
