KNOXVILLE - Dr. Lauren Thoma has joined Summit Medical Group as a family medicine physician with special interests in women’s health and preventive care. She currently is accepting new patients.

Thoma will practice at Summit Medical Group at Deane Hill on Monday and Summit Medical Group at Northshore on Tuesday through Friday. As a family medicine physician, Thoma is dedicated to caring for the whole family, including patients of all ages. She is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine.
Thoma graduated with a bachelor’s degree in neuroscience from Centenary College of Louisiana, where she also competed in Division I women’s soccer for four years. She earned her medical degree from Louisiana State University Health Shreveport School of Medicine and completed her residency at the University of Tennessee Medical Center, serving as chief resident in her final year of training.
Thoma is married to Thomas Thoma, and the couple reside in West Knoxville with a dog named Bella. They relocated to Tennessee from Louisiana and enjoy hiking in the Smoky Mountains and attending Knoxville’s festivals, music and outdoor activities.
