SOLitude Lake Management has released the final record-breaking results of its 2018 charitable efforts through SOLitude’s dedicated volunteerism and community outreach program, The SOLution.

SOLitude colleagues, friends, clients and vendor partners contributed $81,595 in donations of goods and in-kind services to non-profits, environmental projects and deserving families in need last year. The contributions were supported by 3,577 collective volunteer hours through SOLitude’s Earth Day, Love Your Lake, Little GOBBLERs, and HOLiday Cheer programs, as well as local initiatives including:

• Waterway clean-ups – 13,310 lbs of trash removed
• Native grass and tree plantings
• Fishing tournaments for kids and nursing homes
• Foodbank backpack programs
• Invasive species removals
• Dog and cat adoption events
• Equine Rescue
• Rain garden and oyster reef castle installations
• Habitat for humanity builds
• Hurricane relief efforts

SOLitude’s team members that made significant impacts through these programs were awarded quarterly and recognized for their mission to serve. Each named Volunteer of the Quarter throughout the year, Regional Manager Alberto Florez (Florida), Aquatic Biologist Brea Arvidson (Massachusetts), and Regional Administrator Regina Brimmer (Virginia) received additional “SOLution Points,” allowing them and others who volunteered during personal time last year to receive gift card rewards and generous company-matched donations to charities of their choosing. The 2018 Volunteer of the Quarter for Q4 has not yet been announced.

SOLitude’s top volunteer top volunteer of 2018 will receive the esteemed Heart & SOL Award, which recognizes an individual who goes above and beyond with personal volunteering, inspires others, and displays a true commitment and passion to make the world a better place. The award will be announced in February during SOLitude’s annual “SOL Summit” culture and team-building conference, which will be held in Virginia Beach, VA this year.

“Through the commitment of our generous colleagues, partners and clients, SOLitude was able to make a record-breaking impact in 2018,” said Director of Marketing Tracy Fleming. “We are proud and honored to serve the communities in which we live and are excited to begin a new year of giving.”

The SOLution is a company-wide program that encourages the company and all employees to strive to “create a better world” through volunteerism, community outreach, sustainability and environmental consciousness. Since the program began in 2012, SOLitude has donated more than $335,833 in goods and in-kind services and contributed 13,023 volunteer hours to our local communities across the country.
