Enjoy a day of golf, fun, food and cash prizes at The Mountain Strong Golf Tournament – Saturday, April 15, 2017 at the Gatlinburg Golf Course, Pigeon Forge, TN – hosted by Arrowmont board member, Margit Worsham.

Benefiting Arrowmont’s educational programs, the golf tournament supports Sevier County art programs including adult and children’s community classes, local resident scholarships and ArtReach.

ArtReach is Arrowmont’s annual program to bring a full day of art instruction to approximately 1,200 school children of Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, Sevierville, Seymour and Kodak. Over its 26-year history, ArtReach has provided hands-on art education to more than 25,000 Sevier County children. Students work in professionally equipped studios taught by professional artists using specialized equipment and learn arts vocabulary. Arrowmont provides ArtReach to public schools at no cost.

Studies show that young people who participate regularly in the arts are four times more likely to be recognized for academic achievement. Art develops problem-solving skills, abstract thinking, motor skills, decision-making skills, visual-spatial skills and cultural awareness; all of which are crucial to children's future learning.

Register today for Arrowmont’s 7th Annual Golf Tournament. Bring a team or register individually — $100 per player or $350 per team of four. Cash prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place, nearest to the pin, longest drive and $10,000 hole-in-one competition. Free lunch and drinks will be provided at 11:30 am. Tee off is at 1:00 pm. Complementary cold beer, moonshine, soft drinks and snacks are available throughout the tournament.

Sponsorships are available. For more information about sponsorships or to register, email Anne May at amay@arrowmont.org or call 865-436-5860 ex.28. Registration form is available online at www.arrowmont.org/events/7th-annual-golf-tournament/.

Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts enriches lives by developing aesthetic appreciation and fostering self-expression with hands-on experiences in a variety of media, classes, conferences and seminars. On the leading edge of arts education, Arrowmont utilizes contemporary and fine arts techniques to build upon a foundation of traditional arts and crafts.
