  Beckham, Bolton named All-South Atlantic Soccer Standouts

MARYVILLE -- Maryville College senior midfielder Brian Beckham and senior forward Travis Bolton have been named to the 2011 NSCAA Men's Soccer NCAA Division III All-South-Atlantic Region team.

Beckham, a Knoxville, Tennessee native and Knox Catholic High School alumnus, earned back-to-back Great South Athletic Conference Player of the Year accolades over his final two seasons in the orange and garnet. During his career, Brian tallied 16 goals and five assists while earning 2008 GSAC All-Freshman accolades, as well as four Great South All-Conference nods. Beckham earned GSAC All-Academic honors following his senior season. Brian is the son of Bill and Susan Beckham from Knoxville.

Beckham and Bolton helped the Scots earn four consecutive Great South regular season and tournament titles while going 55-15-7 in four seasons.

Bolton, a Knoxville Farragut graduate, tallied 33 career goals while dishing out eight assists during his career. This 2008 GSAC All-Freshman team member earned three Great South All-Conference honors while excelling in the classroom with three GSAC Academic All-Conference honors. Travis is the son of Clarence Bolton and Tracey Hord.

"We are very proud of these two young men to be recognized as All-South team members", stated Coach Pepe Fernandez. "To be honored by and voted by opposing coaches is an extreme honor. We will miss their leadership and outstanding play on the field as they graduate this spring."
