Zoo Knoxville invites guests to experience Smoky Night Lights, an extraordinary new way to see the Smokies come alive after dark. Opening Friday, November 14, this first-of-its-kind immersive spectacle surrounds guests in a 360° world of light, music, and nature, blending art and environment to create an unforgettable evening.

Created in partnership with internationally acclaimed entertainment studio Moment Factory, Smoky Night Lights transforms the natural beauty of the Smoky Mountains into an immersive journey through the seasons. Guests will witness an entire day, and year, unfold before their eyes — from spring’s awakening light to autumn’s amber glow and the stillness of a winter night — all choreographed to a soundscape that brings Appalachian harmonies and regional influences to life through an artful balance of light, sound, and nature.

Each evening, small groups will be welcomed in staggered intervals and immersed in an intimate, unhurried 45-minute show, free to explore at their own pace as dancing lights guide the way. The journey follows the all-new Timber Loop, a previously inaccessible three-acre ravine reimagined as a magnificent trail of adventure, inviting guests to explore even more of the Zoo’s natural landscape, while also serving as the pathway through Smoky Night Lights.

Visitors will unwind with craft cocktails served in glowing glasses, including new, themed creations featuring award-winning selections from Sugarlands Distilling Company, a celebrated family-owned East Tennessee distillery known for its signature moonshine and handcrafted spirits. Guests can also enjoy curated snack offerings and take in the atmosphere of a cozy, social setting where every detail complements the show’s natural beauty.

On select nights, guests will be treated to live local music or Appalachian storytelling, along with themed merchandise and keepsakes inspired by the show. Whether sipping fireside or relaxing beneath twinkling lights, guests will find the perfect backdrop for a full evening escape.
