June 28, 2026
the Island in Pigeon Forge

PIGEON FORGE, TN - On July 3-5, 2026, The Island in Pigeon Forge is rolling out the red, white, and blue for America's 250th Independence Day with a landmark weekend celebration packed with new experiences, live music, kids' activities, and dazzling new visual entertainment — all with free parking and free admission.

New This Year: Freedom in Motion Wheel Light Shows

The centerpiece of the 250th celebration is the debut of Freedom in Motion, a patriotic light show on The Great Smoky Mountain Wheel showcasing its new $1 million lighting upgrade. As night falls over the Smokies, the iconic Wheel will come alive with dynamic LED displays, including a scrolling "USA" tribute and a majestic eagle in flight — a fitting way to mark one of the most significant Independence Days in American history.

Spirit of America Fountain Shows

Guests can cool down and be wowed by the Island Show Fountain's Spirit of America performance throughout the day — a choreographed display of water, light, and music set to "American Girl" and "God Bless the USA."

More Ways to Celebrate: July 3rd-July 5th

• USA 250 Photo Spot — A brand-new backdrop designed for capturing 250th anniversary memories

• Kids' Craft Tent — Free patriotic crafts for children of all ages

• Live Music — Nightly performances on the Ole Smoky stage beginning at 8 PM

• Exclusive Merchandise — Limited-edition 250th anniversary souvenirs and specialty items available in Island shops
