$2 million dollar Streetscape Road Project & 1st Christmas in Burlington


KNOXVILLE - As the City of Knoxville prepares to invest over $2 million dollars in a streetscape project in the Burlington community, the businesses and residences are preparing for a Christmas Holiday celebration. The 1st Annual “Christmas In Burlington” will be held on December 11, 2021, 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm. This event is sponsored by the Burlington Business District Association and the Burlington Residence Association.

Over 50+ businesses and residences make up the associations and they are very eager to partner with the City of Knoxville to improve the look of the business district. As stated by Vice Mayor, Gwen McKenzie, “Burlington is a beautiful part of our city and they are excited about the potential that the Burlington Business District and the residents have to offer to the City of Knoxville. Business growth and stabilizing homeownership is all of our goals.” She personally invited all the City Council members and the entire city of Knoxville to join the celebration, “Christmas In Burlington”, on December, 11, 2021, 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm.






The excitement is building for an afternoon of entertainment, music, foods, crafts and vendors. The anticipation of the arrival of Santa Clause on the Knoxville City Fire Truck, is one of the highlights. Both Santa and the Fire Truck will be glistening in sparkling “Red”. Pictures with Santa are being made available at The Gathering Spot, with a full Christmas backdrop and Santa on the wings. Santa Clause picture taking is scheduled from 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm at The Gathering Spot, 3906 Martin Luther King Jr. Ave., Knoxville. Each person will walk away with a “FREE” picture, taken by noted photographer, Brett Blue.

The event will be held in the area of Greater Warner Tabernacle Church, 3800 Martin Luther King Jr. Ave., along Martin Luther King Jr Ave., and along Oakland and Kirkwood Streets.

Food Trucks and Vendors will have food and Christmas items for sale. An to top it off COVID-19 Vaccines will be available by New Direction Health Care Solutions and Flu Shots by RAM.
