Structure at 2818 at Wilson Avenue a total loss

KNOXVILLE - This afternoon at 3:20 PM, The Knoxville Fire Department was dispatched to a reported structure fire in the area of 2818 Selma Avenue. On arrival, KFD located a structure hidden in a large amount of brush and overgrowth and discovered the home was on fire.

KFD initially had difficulty accessing the property from Wilson Ave or Selma Ave. KFD was able to use Superior Alley to access the property. However, when crews reached the home, it was fully involved. KFD crews were able to gain entry and attack the fire.

KFD companies had the fire under control by 3:48 PM. Crews did have to conduct an extensive overhaul of the structure.

The owner was not at home at the time of the fire. A single male occupies the house.

The home is a total loss.

No injuries have been reported.

Knoxville Fire Department Investigators are on the scene working to determine a cause.
