KNOXVILLE - The City’s outdoor swimming pools open this weekend, which has an extra day for many City employees, as City of Knoxville offices will be closed Monday, May 27, for the Memorial Day holiday.

Ed Cothren Pool (Malcolm-Martin Park, 1737 Reynolds Street) and Inskip Pool (at Inskip Park, 4204 Bruhin Road) open for the season on Saturday, May 25. Hours of operation are 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday thru Saturday; 1-6 p.m. on Sunday. Hours change to weekends only after Knox County Schools are back in session, and the last day of the pool season is Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 2, 2024.

Admission is $3 for Ed Cothren, $4 for Inskip. Discounts are available for groups of 10 or more (please call ahead), Splash Pass purchasers and seniors who participate in Silver Sneakers, Silver & Fit, or Renew Active.

While outdoor pools will be open Memorial Day, City of Knoxville offices will be closed. This includes the 311 Center for Service Innovation, which operates the 311 and 211 phone numbers. Residents are encouraged to use the My Knoxville app to report issues to 311 or the online chatbot to find social services.

The City's Solid Waste Facility, 1033 Elm St., will be closed Saturday, May 25, through Monday, May 27, resuming normal operating hours on Tuesday, May 28.

Waste Connections will run its normal residential garbage and recycling routes on Monday, May 27, and downtown trash and recyclables will be collected as usual during the holiday weekend.

The City's five recycling drop-off centers will be open May 27, but the Goodwill attendant will not be present to receive donations of household goods.

Knoxville Area Transit will operate on a Sunday schedule on Monday, May 27.
