briscoe circle fire

KNOXVILLE - Early this morning, at approximately 1:22 AM, Knox County Communications District received an urgent call regarding a house fire. The homeowner reported that a detached garage was ablaze and that the flames were advancing toward the main structure of the house.

Upon arrival, emergency crews observed the detached garage completely engulfed in flames. The situation escalated quickly, and within minutes, they noted that the house itself was beginning to catch fire. Firefighters worked diligently to control the blaze, successfully declaring it under control by 2:03 AM.

As of 2:25 AM, teams remained on the scene, actively checking for hotspots and taking measures to protect the property further from damage. Thankfully, all residents, including two adults and one child, were able to evacuate safely. In addition, household pets—a cat and a dog—also escaped unharmed.

Unfortunately, the detached garage was deemed a total loss due to the fire. The main house sustained significant damage from the fire, as well as substantial water and smoke damage. Fortunately, the home was equipped with working smoke alarms, which likely aided in the timely evacuation of its occupants.

Knox County Fire Department (KFD) investigators are currently on-site to determine the cause of the fire, as they work to piece together the events leading to this incident.
