GREENE COUNTY, TN - In a significant development in the fight against drug trafficking in Northeast Tennessee, a collaborative effort among the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI), the Carter County Sheriff’s Office, the Johnson City Police Department, and the 3rd Judicial District Drug Task Force has culminated in the arrest of a large-scale methamphetamine distributor. Mark Holt, aged 52, is facing multiple charges related to the distribution and possession of controlled substances.

The investigation gained momentum earlier this month when TBI special agents received credible information regarding Holt's activities involving the distribution of substantial quantities of methamphetamine throughout the region. Operational intelligence led to coordinated efforts between local law enforcement agencies.

On February 12th, authorities executed a search warrant at a storage facility in Piney Flats associated with Holt. This operation yielded approximately seven pounds of methamphetamine, a firearm, and paraphernalia indicative of meth production.

Following this, on February 13th, more investigative work led agents to locate Holt’s residence within a recreational vehicle at a campground along Pebble Mountain Road in Chuckey. A second search warrant was executed there, resulting in the recovery of approximately one pound of methamphetamine, an additional firearm, and psilocybin mushrooms.

Mark Holt was subsequently arrested and is being held at the Greene County Jail. He faces serious charges, including Sale/Delivery of a Schedule II Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine), Possession of a Schedule I Controlled Substance (Psilocybin Mushrooms), and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Dangerous Felony.

The ongoing investigation suggests that further charges may be forthcoming as authorities continue to assess the full extent of the operation. It is critical to note that the charges and allegations presented are mere accusations at this stage, and Holt is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
