KNOXVILLE - Last evening at approximately 11:45 p.m., the Knox County 911 Center received a call reporting a fire in the basement of a residence located at 1201 Pilleaux Drive. Upon arrival, the first Knoxville Fire Department engine company found active fire in the basement area. Firefighters promptly and safely entered the home and successfully extinguished the fire within minutes.

The basement sustained moderate damage from the fire; however, the home remains habitable. Three occupants were in the house at the time—two adults and one child. The adult male occupant reported smelling smoke and promptly called 911. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported.

The Knoxville Fire Department's investigators are currently investigating the cause of the fire. Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
