White Pine Fallen First Responder Family Receives Mortgage-Free Home

WHITE PINE, TN -
To mark the 25th anniversary of the September 11th attacks, the Tunnel to Towers Foundation has paid, in full, the mortgage for the family of fallen Jefferson County EMS Captain Jeremy Sutton.

On August 31, 2024, Paramedic Captain Jeremy Sutton was a passenger in an ambulance rushing to a call for help with its emergency lights activated when it was struck by a tractor-trailer. Captain Sutton was killed in the crash.
The 44-year-old served with Jefferson County EMS for 23 years, spending more than half his life answering calls for help from his community. He is survived by his wife, Nancy, and three sons, Brayden, Jackson, and Mason.
Today we honor the memory of all of those we lost when America was attacked 25 years ago, including my brother, FDNY Firefighter Stephen Siller. On September 11th, Stephen and thousands of first responders rushed toward danger to try and save lives. Captain Sutton was in the same mindset, rushing to help when he lost his life. The Tunnel to Towers Fallen First Responder Home Program pays off the mortgages of first responders who lose their lives in the line of duty or to 9/11-related illnesses, leaving behind young children. The program’s mission is to provide stability and long-term security for families coping with the devastating loss of a parent. This year, in honor of the 343 firefighters who lost their lives on September 11, 2001, Tunnel to Towers will deliver 343 mortgage-free homes to American heroes and their families.
