Grainger High School Lady Grizzlies promote chocolate milk
RUTLEDGE, TN -- Grainger High School Lady Grizzlies are "milking" their 28 game winning streak for all its worth after receiving a grant from Tennessee dairy farm families, the Tennessee Department of Agriculture and Southeast United Dairy Industry Association (SUDIA) to purchase a milk merchandiser cooler. The Grizzlies stock the cooler with chocolate milk – the ultimate post workout beverage, sponsored by Grainger County farm families and the local community.

It all began a few months ago after Lady Grizzlies Head Coach Justin Combs was presented with scientific evidence of chocolate milk's post-workout replenishing abilities and nutritional value from Grainger County dairy farm families. After reviewing the materials and evidence, Combs was initially skeptical of providing chocolate milk after basketball games and physical activity.
"I read into it and did my research," said Combs. "There were definitely some numbers and statistics to back it up."
After a physically straining game ends with a win by the Lady Grizzlies, the team enjoys the second best part of winning, chocolate milk.
"The first thing that comes into the locker room as soon as we're done is chocolate milk," said Combs. "The girls are asking, where's the milk?"
