MYRTLE BEACH, SC - Knoxville resident Scott Collette will be honored Sunday, November 2, at his home course, Three Ridges Golf Course, following his victory in the 2025 Play Golf Myrtle Beach World Amateur Championship (The World Am).
Collette was crowned the World Amateur champion after defeating 59 other golfers in the Flight Winners Playoff at Thistle Golf Club in Sunset Beach, N.C., on August 29, 2025.
The 2025 World Am welcomed nearly 3,000 golfers from around the globe to The Golf Capital of the World® for a week of competition, community, and connection. Players competed across more than 50 award-winning courses, which concluded with the championship playoff.
“The World Am represents everything that makes Myrtle Beach golf special - competition, community and unforgettable experiences,” said Ryan Cannon, Executive Director of Golf Tourism Solutions. “We’re incredibly proud of Scott and all our participants who make this event such a global celebration of the game, and we look forward to visiting our champion’s hometown to dedicate this award to him.”
The 2025 World Am featured 2,623 men and 299 women with 77 percent of participants coming from outside the Carolinas, including players from 47 states and 18 foreign countries. The oldest player was 92-years old and the youngest was 17-years old.
The 2026 World Am is scheduled for August 29-September 4, 2026.
